Earlier than planned, just six months after the signing of the contract for Elliniko, Lamda Development announced today Monday that it is handing over to the public a part of the Metropolitan Park, Experience Park, which opens its doors on December 20, and invites residents and visitors of the city to discover it, daily from 17:00 to 22:00.
As mentioned in the announcement, the Experience Park of Elliniko covers an area of ​​over 70 acres, which is part of the Metropolitan Park of Elliniko, in the area of ​​the former Athens International Airport, which is dominated by the three Air Force hangars, which are characterized by the Ministry of Culture as newer monuments.
This experiential park is the beginning of a new way of life and as mentioned, it is an ideal destination for citizens to escape from the everyday life of the city. In the park among others there is the fountain with hundreds of water jets that create unique choreography, an outdoor sports area, a playground with a variety of toys, made in an environmentally friendly way and the Zen garden which is an oasis where the water element and the Mediterranean nature dominate.
In the Park, designed according to the biodiversity of the area, 500 trees and 55,000 plants of Mediterranean varieties were planted. The project has been designed and constructed according to the principles of sustainable development, signaling a new, more environmentally friendly approach, from collecting rainwater for water needs and minimizing the use of pesticides and fertilizers and utilizing existing materials to create architectural elements such as benches and paths.
Especially for the festive season, from December 20 to January 9, the Experience Park, decorated and full of sparkle, invites the public to live the most beautiful Christmas experience. For the first time in Greece, two unique light installations create a unique experiential experience. The Stalactite, an imposing installation with highly luminous motifs synchronized with music, signed by Christopher Bauder and Boris Divider and Helios, an impressive lighting fixture designed by the Algorithm team to create a landscape full of light, movement and rhythm.
At the same time, the Park adorns an imposing Christmas tree, 17 meters high, with bright lights, consisting of 180 real trees which will be given for reforestation after the end of the festive season. Finally, around the Christmas tree, guests can enjoy flavors from ‘Akis Petretzikis, Elias Skoulas, LUKUMADES, OPSOPHY as well as ethnic suggestions from Esteban and Falafeladiko, combined with many other surprises.

Experience Park is easily accessible, with entrance from Vouliagmeni Avenue, very close to Elliniko Metro station. For the convenience of guests, free parking is provided in the Park. For the safety of visitors, the relevant procedures and recommendations adopted by the competent health authorities are followed.
