Former president of BNDES (National Social Development Bank) Luciano Coutinho was appointed to compose the transitional government group that deals with Industry, Commerce and Services.

The economist was the longest-serving head of the state bank in the PT governments. He took charge of BNDES in May 2007, still in the government of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), and remained until 2016, under Dilma Rousseff (PT).

Coutinho’s nomination for the transition was published in the Official Gazette and signed by vice president-elect Geraldo Alckmin (PSB).

The industry and commerce group is also made up of federal deputy Marcelo Ramos (PSD-AM), state deputy André Ceciliano (PT-RJ), former governor of Rio Grande do Sul Germano Rigotto, Embraer executive Jackson Schneider, by the director general of Senai Nacional Rafael Luchesi, by the former president of Sebrae Paulo Okamoto, among other names.

Other well-known names of PT governments make up the transition this year between the defeated government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and that of Lula. One of them is that of former Minister of Economy Guido Mantega, who is part of the Planning and Budget team.

In addition, TV presenter Bela Gil, who is the daughter of singer-songwriter Gilberto Gil, was also nominated for the transition.

The presenter, who became known as a soldier in favor of a healthy diet, will integrate the technical nucleus of Social Development and Fight against Hunger.
