Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, said he will donate most of his fortune to charity while he is still alive. He currently has around $124 billion and is the fourth richest man in the world.
Bezos, 58, made the statements in an interview with CNN. He said that he and his girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez, are making preparations to do so, and that he wants to ensure the donations bring effective results.
“It’s really difficult. There are many ways you can do things that are inefficient,” he said in an interview with Sanchez. Bezos stepped down as CEO of Amazon in 2021.
In 2020, Bezos announced a $10 billion grant to combat climate change. Earlier, it had donated $2 billion to help homeless families and preschool education.
