INSS and banks will not work on the holiday; see how to pay bills and apply for benefits

The INSS (National Social Security Institute) agencies and bank agencies across the country will be closed this Tuesday (15), a public holiday. At the INSS, face-to-face service was also interrupted this Monday (14), as it is an optional point of public service.

Banks work normally on Monday and Wednesday (16), with the exception of places where there is a municipal holiday.

Citizens, however, need to be aware of the deadline for paying bank accounts. In general, taxes have their due date extended, but the ideal is to confirm the exact day of payment.

If the debit date has not been extended, the suggestion of Walter Tadeu de Faria, assistant director of services at Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks), is to advance payment. “Or, in the case of securities that have a barcode, schedule payment at ATMs, internet banking and through the telephone service of banks”, he says.

According to Febraban, ATMs will work normally, as well as remote service channels over the internet and by phone. Consumption accounts such as water, electricity, telephone, etc. and installments due on the day of the holiday may be paid, without surcharge, on the next business day.

The federation also advises citizens to use banks remotely, if it is not necessary to attend an agency after the holiday.

“Electronic means are a practical and extremely safe alternative and offer practically all the financial transactions of the banking system. Internet banking, mobile banking and ATMs can be used to pay bills, check balances and statements and transfers”, says Faria. .

In the case of Caixa Econômica Federal, citizens who complain about an undue loan linked to Auxílio Brasil will have to go to an agency to request the cancellation of the payroll loan. It is necessary to bring CPF and photo identification.

Service will normally take place before and after the holiday. On Tuesday, there is no office. Services related to social and labor benefits can be done through Caixa Tem or the benefit application to be used, as in the case of Auxílio Brasil itself and the FGTS (Fundo de Garantia do Tempo de Serviço), for example.

How to schedule the benefit request at the INSS?

In the case of the INSS, the closing of the agencies only prevents appointments scheduled in person, such as carrying out medical expertise, for example. In this case, it is possible to reschedule. To find out the new date, just call Central 135 and the citizen will get the information.

For other appointments and services, the service can be done by Central 135 or by Meu INSS. On 135, there will only be electronic assistance, without the insured being able to speak to an attendant. This option will be released again on Wednesday, from 7 am to 10 pm.

According to the INSS, through the electronic service number 135, it is possible to obtain information about the benefit, know the time when the next service was scheduled at the agency or even have information about payments. Local phone calls are free. By cell phone, you pay the value of the local call.

The Meu INSS app or website will continue to be available normally, with all the features, both on the computer and on the cell phone. Through the portal, it is possible to request benefits, issue statements, fulfill requirements with the delivery of documents and schedule in-person service.

Also at Meu INSS, the insured can be assisted by the virtual assistant Helô, who guides and answers questions.
