Embrapii (Brazilian Company for Research and Industrial Innovation) announces, this Tuesday (15), the release of almost R$ 10 million in research for companies located in the Amazon region in partnership with BNDES and the Ministry of Education.
The research, focused on the area of bioeconomy, should generate around R$ 30 million in businesses linked to the forest production chains in the Amazon, considering the counterpart of the companies and research centers involved.
According to Embrapii’s financing rules, research for medium and large companies requires counterpart investments in the project. For every R$ 10 invested in the research, companies contribute R$ 7 and agents financed with R$ 3.
One of the projects –focused on the so-called sustainable bioeconomy, Lula’s campaign theme and the gimmick of his COP27 roadshow– envisages the transformation of Brazil nuts into plastic by a startup in Manaus (AM).
Embrapii is an enabler of innovation in the industry. With a budget of R$ 400 million, it maintains a network of 85 research centers. At COP27, it will also announce the inclusion of four more research centers.
On the list of projects linked to the bioeconomy are the production of biofertilizers and the production of vegan leather, whose production process reduces the use of water.
