Panel SA: Agency must classify Buser as ‘clandestine’

by

Buser, known as the Uber of buses, is at risk of suffering a strong setback at ANTT. The directors of the road transport agency formed a consensus to impose seizure penalties on vehicles and classify companies of this type as clandestine.

The sector was saved by a judicial decision at the end of this Wednesday (16) that suspended the deliberative meeting of the agency scheduled for this Thursday (17).

In practice, vehicles that are not performing “closed trips” will be classified as clandestine. ANTT only allows charter companies to carry out the so-called closed circuit.

Under this system, a company bus can only make a round trip with the same passengers. The sale of tickets along the stretch is prohibited, which goes against the idea of applications such as Buser.

Under the current rule, collaborative charter companies (as the new collective transport solutions are known) only received a fine and continued on their journey.

With the change, passengers will have to get off the road and the bus will be stuck in a courtyard or parking lot – in addition to the fine.
