This Sunday (27) takes place the first stage of the contest of the INSS (National Institute of Social Security). Knowing the public notice and the examining board well can help to avoid surprises on the day of the test.
The assessment will last a total of 3 hours and 30 minutes and will have 120 multiple-choice questions, 50 of which will be basic knowledge and 70 will be specific knowledge. Candidates will still have to answer two discursive questions.
Basic knowledge covers questions about the Portuguese language, ethics, constitutional and administrative law, information technology and logical-mathematical reasoning, while specific questions cover at least 21 topics related to Social Security, social security and public power.
The test will be organized by Cebraspe (formerly Cespe/UnB), the same center responsible for the last two editions of the competition. The bank is known for issues that penalize kicks and hits by elimination. This is because the alternatives must be classified as right and wrong. Candidates’ errors void the scoring of correct questions.
Fernanda Helene, a lawyer specializing in social security law and a professor at AlfaCon, comments that questions are usually distributed evenly, and that the most frequent topics are insurance and financing.
She still bets on benefits arising from special legislation, the Own Regime (RPPS) and the constitutional amendment of the Social Security reform as topics that should appear on the test.
This year, successful candidates will compete for a greater number of vacancies, as they compete for an executive management responsible for several agencies, and not for just one unit, as in previous years. In total, 1,023,494 people applied for the thousand positions opened by the INSS. The test sites were made available for consultation on the last day 16.
For specialists, the number of open positions is still small. For them, the INSS has a deficit of employees, which is evidenced by the long queue of citizens waiting for the payment of the benefit.
A novelty this year is that, after the test, candidates will participate in a training course, which will be qualifying in nature.
General recommendations
Cebraspe asks, in an announcement, that the candidate arrives at the place where the test is held at least 1 hour before the start of the application, which is scheduled for 2 pm.
To avoid discomfort, it is recommended that the candidate wear comfortable clothes and shoes. The night before the test you should have at least 7 hours of sleep.
Fernanda Helene recommends reviewing the content before the test, but in a balanced way to avoid anxiety. Keeping calm and controlling emotions is essential.
What can and cannot be taken on test day?
The candidate must carry an identification document with a photo and proof of enrollment in the contest, in addition to a black ballpoint pen made, obligatorily, in transparent material.
Some objects are prohibited during the test. Candidates who are carrying electronic devices such as cell phones, watches and headphones are at risk of being eliminated.
Hats, sunglasses, ear protectors and stationery materials such as pencils, erasers and highlighters are also not allowed.
Drinks and food are not prohibited, as long as they are in transparent packaging.
