Quoted for Fazenda, Haddad leaves with Lula for Brasilia

Quoted to take over the Ministry of Finance, the former mayor of São Paulo Fernando Haddad embarked with the president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to Brasília on the night of this Sunday (27).

The trip, brought forward by one day in relation to what had been stated by the PT president, Gleisi Hoffmann, takes place in the midst of possible definitions of names for ministries. There were no plans for Haddad to go to the federal capital alongside Lula.

Outside Brasilia in the last two weeks, the president-elect has been asked to decide the command of some more important folders, among them the Treasury.

This week, the PT has commitments with the summit of Congress to discuss the format of the PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) of the Transition, which aims to open up space in the spending ceiling to fund expenses such as Bolsa Família.

The PEC did not move without the presence of Lula and an articulator with powers to negotiate with parliamentarians.

As shown to Sheetthe PT wants to form a partnership between Haddad and Persio Arida in charge of the economic area, in order to keep the party at the forefront of strategic decisions – but making room for the influence of a liberal economist in the formulation of public policies.

Arida, however, told Sheet who has no intention of taking office in Brasilia.
