The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, requests the revocation of all the leave of the employees for the holiday period from the Governor of EFKA.
More specifically, the Press Office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs issued the following announcement:
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, asked today from the Governor of EFKA, Panagiotis Doufexis, not to give or revoke all the licenses of EFKA employees from Monday, December 20, 2021 until Friday, January 7, 2022.
Mr. Hatzidakis bases his relevant request on the provisions of no. 49, par. 4 and 5 of Law 3528/2007. He came to this decision taking into account the criticality of the period regarding the rapid issuance of pensions and dealing with other outstanding issues of the insured until the end of the year, but also the need for smooth operation of branches and service to citizens during the holidays.
According to the provisions of the relevant law, the licenses that are not granted in application of the specific regulation will be compulsorily granted in 2022.
The Minister’s decision provoked the expected reactions to which he hastened to respond through his post on Facebook, noting that he did the obvious in order for pensions to come out to serve the citizens and not to suffer during the holidays.
He noted that the permits will be issued normally as provided in 2022.
“With so many people waiting to finally get their pensions, with so many insured people wanting to be served, for example to receive insurance information, how reasonable would it be for the minister to pretend that nothing is happening?” he wondered

I thought I was doing the obvious: I asked for the licenses of EFKA employees to be revoked, in view of the holidays. To get pensions, to close outstanding issues of the insured. And to serve the citizens these days.
However, I see that there are reactions from Avgi, which characterizes my initiative as a “communication-type decision” and the Journal of the Editors, which writes that I am in a deadlock. However the problem is not mine! The problem is the 6.5 million insured and retirees who do not have to suffer further these days. And all those who claim to have a monopoly on social policy must not forget the people who need this very social policy. Employees will not lose their licenses. As provided by law, they will receive them in 2022.
With so many people waiting to finally get their pensions, with so many insured people wanting to be served, for example to receive insurance information, how reasonable would it be for the minister to pretend that nothing is happening? Enough with this passionate and choleric opposition. The opposition that shows nothing but the fanaticism of those who criticize any decision. It’s enough for this decision to belong to the Government!
