Created by Nubank to professionally train young people in the outskirts of Brazil, Instituto Nu completes six months of existence serving more than 4,000 people.
The initiative offers training courses in technology. More than 70% of students are young people from favelas in the North and Northeast regions, with a total of 40% of those attended being black women, 10% trans and transvestites and 10% black men.
The bank intends to create another 10,000 vacancies for students across the country by May 2023. People with an average income of up to three minimum wages may apply.
In the coming months, a project aimed at women’s entrepreneurship will also be launched.
According to Nubank, classes are taught in partnership with Descomplica, Mais um Code and Toti Diversidade.
