by

Surfing the wave of demand for luxury boats –which gained strength in the pandemic–, Yachtmax, a company and insurance company in the sector, bought a crane capable of lifting vessels of up to 220 tons.

Called a travel lift, the equipment cost around R$ 8 million and is part of the company’s service marina, which began operating this month in Itajaí, on the coast of Santa Catarina.

With a total area of 5,000 square meters, the marina’s operation is focused on large ships and megayachts, but it also hopes to attract sailing vessels.

The site will be used for boat maintenance and lifting, moving and docking services. According to Yachtmax, there is a trailer to move the vessels inside the shed and outside.
