Government of SP announces readjustment of almost 12% in highway tolls

by

Artesp (Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo) published, in the Official Gazette this Wednesday (14), the approval of the readjustment in tolls on São Paulo highways. Increases will reach close to 12%, as in the cases of busy roads, such as Anchieta, Imigrantes, Anhanguera, Bandeirantes and Rodoanel. The new rates are valid from 00:00 on next Friday, 16.

In the Anchieta-Imigrantes system, those who leave the capital of São Paulo for the south coast will pay a toll of R$ 33.80. The two highways are managed by EcoVias, controlled by EcoRodovias.

On the Anhanguera and Bandeirantes highways, managed by CCR’s Autoban concessionaire, tolls charged range from R$7.80 to R$11.80 for passenger cars, with variations in the amount at each collection point. The readjustment approved for these routes is 11.73%.

In the case of Rodoanel, on the West section, managed by CCR, the toll will be R$ 2.80 as of Friday, while on the South and East sections, on SP Mar, controlled by the Bertin Group, the values will be of BRL 4.30 and BRL 3.30, respectively.

According to Artesp, the concession contracts for these highways are indexed by the IPCA (Extended Consumer Price Index). The increase takes into account the accumulated inflation between June 2021 and May 2022.

The concessionaires Tebe, Intervias, Triângulo do Sol, Renovias and Colinas, which manage roads in the interior of São Paulo, will readjust their tolls by 10.72%, with contracts indexed by the IGP-M (General Market Price Index).

According to Artesp, the correction announced this Wednesday was expected to take effect in July, but was postponed by the government of São Paulo, “due to the sensitive economic situation at the time, with high inflation and unbridled price increases, especially , of fuels, which caused a ripple effect in the consumer’s pocket”, says the regulatory agency.

In the pre-election period, the governor of São Paulo, Rodrigo Garcia, announced that there would be no toll readjustment on São Paulo’s highways. The São Paulo government has set aside R$400 million until the end of the year to transfer to the concessionaires that manage highways in the state, offsetting the freeze on toll tariff increases, which would be readjusted on the last August 1st.
