The ANS (National Supplementary Health Agency) said this Monday (19) that its collegiate board approved the purchase of the insurance company SulAmérica by the health group Rede D’Or, but imposed restrictions on Qualicorp.
Rede D’Or has a share of around 29% in Qualicorp.
ANS said that Rede D’Or’s representative on Qualicorp’s board of directors must abstain from voting on matters that deliberate exclusively on SulAmérica’s operators.
In addition, it imposed that Qualicorp not sell SulAmérica’s health plans exclusively and that SulAmérica’s plans should not be sold only by Qualicorp.
The deal had already received approval from Susep (Superintendence of Private Insurance) and Cade (Administrative Council for Economic Defense).
