Theodoropoulos-Chatzisarantou, Manolikas-Kontochristopoulou won the first cups in a duel sword, a sword of exercise

Between October 11th and 12th, the first Pan -Hellenic Men’s/Women’s Fencing Cups in Pylea were held for the duel sword and at the Paiania Olympic venues for the exercise sword.

The two weapons will be followed by two more cups before the May Pan -Hellenic Championships.

Men’s/Women’s Duine Cup

Panagiotis Theodoropoulos and Nicole Hadjisarantou climbed to the first step of the podium in the first men’s/women’s duplication of the men’s/women’s darling of Thessaloniki between October 11-12. The Pylea Fencing Athletic Club has accomplished the event with great success for the third year, under the auspices of EX. On the Pylea DAK slides more took place from 240 rifles for both the large category and the Cup of Pampa/Pagorasidon (U13) and Development Games (U10).

Raspoptis in his first match in the men’s category managed to prevail in the first semifinal with 15-9 against the Kavvadia traveler, while Theodoropoulos prevailed in the “derby” with Karabassi 15-14.

In the big final, Theodoropoulos managed to beat the winner of last year’s event, Raspoptzi, with a score of 15-13.

In the semifinals of the women, Nicole Hadjisarantou (Aristotle Paiania) defeated 2025 Greek champion Ariadne Naskaris (Ariston Paiania AO), while 17-year-old Aspasia Karabassi (Ah Ariston Paiania) did 15-11.

In the big final, Hadjisarantou managed to reach the first 15 strikes with 15-10 against her teammate, Karabassi. The 28 -year -old may have won the Pan -Hellenic Women in 2021 in Pylea, but she won her first gold in a Pan -Hellenic Cup.

Men’s/Women’s Swords Cup

Giorgos Manolikas and Katerina Kontochristopoulou were the winners of the first Pan -Hellenic Men/Women’s Swords Exercise on Saturday 11/10 in Paiania.

The fencing closed at the OAKA Olympic facilities in Paiania hosted Greece’s leading fenters in the weapon, in the first race from the three -cup series held every year before the Pan -Hellenic Championship.

In the men, George Manolikas (Axia) was on a very good day and reached the first step of the podium. In the semifinals, after a very difficult match, Dimitris Fatouros (AOX Aigaleo) prevailed 15-14 and defeated Dimitris Gikas (AOX Aigaleo) 13-11.

In the third step of the podium, along with Fatouros, was climbed by Sotiris Gerosideris (GEF), who lost to Gikas in the semifinals of Gika 15-8. Earlier he was the one who excluded the big name of the weapon, Nikos Kontochristopoulos (AOX Aigaleo), 15-14 in the ’32’ round.

In women, Katerina Kontochristopoulou (AOX Aigaleo) started with the “right” season and defended her last year’s victory. In the semifinals she was 15-1 with her teammate, Katerina Tsiaba (AOX Aigaleo), while in the final defeated Eleni Ballou (Aox Aigaleo) 15-9. Earlier, Ballou had excluded Maria Chaldeiou (Axia) with the same score that went up with Chiaba on the third step of the podium.
