Pix exceeds 100 million transactions on payday of the second installment of the 13th

Pix surpassed the mark of 100 million transactions in a single day for the first time this Tuesday (20), the date of payment of the second installment of the 13th salary. According to the Central Bank, 104.1 million operations were carried out.

Pix has already become the most used means of payment in Brazil and has continued to grow since its launch in November 2020. The previous record had been recorded on November 30 of this year, when 99.4 million transactions were carried out on the day of payment of the first installment of the 13th salary.

“The Central Bank’s systems operated with stability throughout the day, fully meeting the high demand,” the BC said in a note.

According to the monetary authority, the reach of Pix’s new daily mark ′′ coincided ′′ with the last day for payment of the second installment of the 13th salary. Companies had until last Tuesday to make the deposit for workers with a formal contract.

Pix completed two years of operation with more than 140 million registered users. According to the most recent data, from November, there are 536.9 million registered keys, such as emails, CPFs and cell phone numbers, and each user can have more than one key.

Until October of this year, the instant payment service created by the BC had been responsible for more than 28 billion transactions and handling approximately R$ 14 trillion.
