Opinion – From Grain to Grain: In my New Year’s promise, the reader wins

by

Few hours left to start a new year. For most, the turn of the year allows for a fresh start or new attempt. At this time, several promises are fulfilled. However, the possibility of a new chance next year easily leads us to postpone. Even I, who consider myself quite disciplined, also sin. But, there is a way out. I comment on some promises and the strategy for fulfilling them.

Regarding the financial part, two New Year promises stand out: save more and study finance. My goal is to help you with both. Below, I explain better how I intend to do this.

The promise to save more is one of the first to be broken.

There are two reasons for not being able to save and the main one is the priority given to it. Usually, what is left over is saved. The accumulation of expenses throughout the month leaves very little of the salary available to invest.

Therefore, the tip in this case is to prioritize the investment by putting it in front of other non-essential expenses. For this, it is also necessary to set goals. The absence of goals is the second reason for not meeting them.

So, in addition to helping you set goals and increase savings, I will also help you with finance-related studies. In fact, I have already done so in the almost daily columns I write.

However, maybe you miss a better structuring or programming of this study. Again, this is one of my goals.

Well, I talked about my goal and how it should make you reach yours. However, it failed to explain how not to escape them.

Writing down your goal and sharing it is the best way for you to commit. After all, when you share, the commitment is no longer just with you, but with others.

Here I have an advantage. This commitment is written in Folha de São Paulo. It’s a huge commitment to thousands of people. But, you also have that opportunity. You can write in the comments that you will commit to following the program I will present.

My goal is to create a program or journey to financial independence that includes not only the written part but also classes online and free. The schedule of these classes will be published here in the column.

Articles written for this program will become a book. By following along here, you’ll have the opportunity to read this book before everyone else. Just when many are still dreaming of financial independence, you will already be on the journey to achieve it.

The journey will start on the first day of the year.

This does not mean that the column will be exclusive to this financial independence program. Some days will be devoted, as always, to aspects that occur at the moment.
