Home office outperforms hybrid work among LinkedIn users, says survey

The 100% remote working day (home office) surpasses the hybrid modality (face-to-face part, remote part) among professionals using LinkedIn.

The conclusion is from a survey by the Gombo agency, which develops projects focused on this platform.

The survey interviewed 2,977 LinkedIn users, including professionals from the five major regions of the country and Brazilians living abroad.

The portion that reported working 100% remotely reached 26.5% (788). Meanwhile, the share with a hybrid journey was 24.5% (730).

This is the first edition of the survey, which makes it impossible to compare with previous periods, according to Erih Carneiro, co-founder of Gombo.

Even so, says Carneiro, the numbers indicate that these modalities “are here to stay” after the boost in the Covid-19 pandemic, which caused restrictions on mobility.

“The pandemic has definitely changed the landscape, the way people see the relationship with remote work and how companies see it.”

In Carneiro’s view, companies are still adapting to the hybrid model, while the home office is already more widespread, which helps to understand the slightly higher portion of fully remote professionals.

“In the pandemic, there was a moment when almost everyone went home. Then, it calmed down, people went to work once or twice a week. Companies are still understanding how this will happen [modalidade híbrida].”

Even with the stimulus for these types of journeys in the health crisis, workers who work in a fully face-to-face manner still make up the majority of respondents in the study. The portion that performs their functions only at the headquarters of the companies was 32.5% (967).

According to the survey, another 16.4% (488) answered that they were not working.

The average age of respondents for the study was 37 years. The data also point to more advanced levels of education compared to workers in general.

According to the study, 43.4% of the surveyed users have specialization or MBA, and 42.1% have higher education.
