Mônica Bergamo: Motoboys stoppage will not be Bolsonarist or anti-Lula, says leadership

Leaders who organize a stoppage of autonomous motoboys for the 25th of this month fear that the movement will be confused with some kind of Bolsonarist initiative or against the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The movement would even have caused a stir among supporters of the current president.

“Our demonstration is against the application companies, and not against the current government. It is a workers’ fight, whichever side he defends”, says the Jr delivery man. “The current president’s campaign spoke a lot about a dialogue with the working class, and we understand that this is the moment when autonomous application delivery people need to open this dialogue door, they need to be present”, he says.

According to Freitas, who is one of the directors of the recently created Alliance of Application Deliverers (AEA), the number of states that have already joined the strike jumped from four to 15 this week.

“I am absolutely sure that the trend of all this is to increase. We have as a reference the Breque dos Apps of 2020, which had a huge impact”, he says.

The delivery man says that the movement already gathers the support of delivery men like Paulo Lima, the Rooster, and the president of Amabr (Association of Autonomous and App Freight Drivers in Brazil), Edgar Francisco da Silva, the Gringo. Other articulators of the 2020 brake would also be involved.

As the column anticipated this week, mobilization should focus on shopping centers in the country, collection points and in front of Ifood offices, one of the main delivery apps on the market.

The movement will demand better working conditions, greater participation in discussions promoted by the government on the regulation of apps and the creation of a social fund to protect workers in the segment, among other points.

“Our fight is against application companies, and what we want from the current government is a dialogue door. But it is also a charge based on what the president-elect himself has been saying in his campaigns. Now that he is exercising the position of head of state, we want him to keep his promises”, says Jr. Freitas.

The motoboy says he believes that the concentration of the stoppage in front of Ifood offices could serve as an example for other companies. “We are convinced that Ifood holds most of the demands that exist in the market today”, he explains.

“If we face the application that has the greatest rise in the market today, we show others that we will no longer accept this type of situation with the working class”, he continues.

As Panel SA showed, companies in the sector spoke out this week stating that it is necessary to listen to all sides of the discussion. In a note, iFood said it supports the debate on the regulation of work on platforms.

“Since 2021, we have publicly defended a broad dialogue on the subject that involves couriers, the government and the sector. As a Brazilian company, we are open to collaborating in the construction of a model that understands the new labor relations and brings protection and rights to workers”, he said. the company.

On Tuesday (3), the new Minister of Labor, Luiz Marinho, promised a proposal to regulate apps in the first half of this year. At the time, the head of the folder classified the category’s work as “semi-slave”.
