The country’s unemployment rate stood at 11.4% in November last year, compared to an upwardly revised 13.1% in November 2021 and a downwardly revised 11.5% in October 2022.
The unemployed amounted to 527,758 people, marking a decrease of 85,828 people compared to November 2021 (14%) and by 6,039 people compared to October 2022 (1.1%).
The unemployment rate for women rose to 14.7% from 17.5% in November last year and for men to 8.7% from 9.4%.
By major age groups, among the 15-24 year olds the unemployment rate rises to 31.3% from 32.3% in November 2021 and among the 25-74 year olds to 10.3% from 12.1%.
Also according to the ELSTAT labor force survey:
The employed amounted to 4,115,797 people, marking an increase by 31,125 people compared to November 2021 (0.8%) and by 7,425 people compared to October 2022 (0.2%).
People under 75 not in the labor force, or “people outside the labor force” (people neither working nor looking for work), totaled 3,174,819 people, an increase of 21,160 people compared to November 2021 (0.7%) and a decrease of 3,969 people compared to October 2022 (0.1%).
