Despite the barriers caused by the coronavirus for the mobility of professionals between countries, companies specializing in immigration claim that the balance after almost two years of pandemic is an acceleration in the movement.
The advisory for American visas D4U USA Group recorded a 152% increase in requests for visas to enter the country. According to the group, Brazil is already the fourth country that most immigrates to the US with the EB2 visa, granted to highly qualified professionals or those who have an interesting skill for the nation.
The service for new American visas and the interviews for Green Card, carried out at the American consulate, were affected in the pandemic, with delay and stoppage of some modalities.
The global report on migration trends by Fragomen, another company specializing in immigration, points out that the pandemic even facilitated some processes, which gained more technology. Many countries reduced the in-person steps for granting visas, at consulates and embassies.
According to the company, vacancies for remote work are still an important vector, and countries with great tourist activity are creating ways to call those who can work from anywhere, so that they become residents.
Fragomen also points out that the number of visas that require a sponsoring company is falling, which benefits self-employed professionals or those who have not been invited by a foreign company. Belarus, Finland and Luxembourg are some of the nations that allow this type of immigration.
The exchange and international education market also heated up again, according to the STB (Student Travel Bureau). The segment, which was heavily impacted by the suspension of travel and in-person classes, today has been offering cheaper prices, which helped to attract demand, despite the rise in the dollar, according to the company.
For 2022, STB expects a growth of around 30% in sales, according to José Carlos Hauer, president of the company.
