Internet sales should have smaller discounts in the final stretch of 2021 compared to the same period last year, according to a survey by Adobe on consumer trends in the world.
Promotions of electronic equipment, for example, should reach 22%, compared to 27% in 2020. Historically, this group usually has greater discounts compared to other 18 product categories, including throughout the year, says Adobe.
The projection considers the interval between November 1st and December 31st, and covers dates such as Black Friday and Christmas.
Even with less discounts, online sales in the season are expected to grow 11% over last year, reaching US$ 910 billion worldwide.
According to the survey, around 50% of respondents plan to present other people with physical goods, while 17% want to offer an experience such as tickets to concerts, sporting events and airline tickets.
