Finance Minister Fernando Haddad is going to meet Brazilian mega-businessmen at a dinner in Brasília to discuss tax reform.

The meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday (15), in the middle of a hot week: a day later, Haddad will have his first public meeting with the president of the Central Bank, Roberto Campos Neto, the target of harsh criticism by Lula (PT) for keeping interest rates high in Brazil.

The meeting will be held by the Esfera Brasil group, which has among its business associates such as its founder, João Carlos Camargo, from CNN, André Esteves, from BTG Pactual, Luiz Carlos Trabuco, from Bradesco, Rubens Ometto, from Cosan, Abilio Diniz, from Carrefour, Carlos Sanchez, from pharmaceutical company EMS, and Fernando Marques, from União Química.

According to one of the guests, Haddad has already expressed the desire to debate a reform that encourages companies to invest, generating jobs in the country.

Journalists Aline Midlej and Rodrigo Bocardi will lead the broadcast of the Carnival parades in São Paulo on TV Globo. The revelry will be shown throughout Brazil. “I hope to honor the trajectory of Carnival in São Paulo, my land, with the same love that I have felt every time I visit the barracks”, says Midlej.

His colleague celebrates “the greater interaction and proximity with the public” that coverage of the popular festival provides. The duo will also be accompanied by Ailton Graça, Alemão do Cavaco and Celso Viafora, who will comment on the performance of each samba school on the avenue.
