Panel SA: Companies send donations to Bahia

Private sector donation initiatives to help victims of the rains in Bahia grow.

Steel wire producer Belgo Bekaert, which has two of its units in Feira de Santana, has already collected 52,000 tonnes of food, which will be delivered this Friday (31), in Itabuna, Itapetinga and Ilhéus.

​Mondelēz Brasil, owner of Lacta, announced a donation of R$ 600 thousand in basic food baskets and essential products.

The SEB Group, owned by businessman Chaim Zaher, donated 200,000 liters of bottled water to the population affected by floods in the state, where it has schools.

Hope says that about a thousand pieces of lingerie donated by the brand arrived this Wednesday (29) at Arena Castelão to be distributed to victims.

The National Central Institute Unimed claims that since the 24th, they have been donating around 50 tonnes of products such as food, diapers, cleaning items and masks to institutions in Itabuna and Ilhéus, which distribute them to families.

The Ame Digital app opened a channel for customers of Americanas, Submarino and Shoptime stores to donate to the “SOS Bahia” campaign, created to revert resources to groceries, mattresses and other products.

Americanas SA says it is also using its logistics operation to ship 75 tons of food and water.

The floods have destroyed roads and houses and have left more than 90,000 people homeless or homeless, in addition to 24 dead.
