While President Jair Bolsonaro and Education Minister Milton Ribeiro try to combat the requirement of proof of vaccination against Covid-19 at federal universities, private institutions are studying how to deal with the matter when classes resume next year.
Mackenzie Presbyterian University says it will look into possible charging for the vaccine passport in the second week of January. Classes return on February 1st.
Anhembi Morumbi also claims that it is evaluating for 2022 the possible implementation of some type of control. The university belongs to the Ă‚nima EducaĂ§Ă£o group of institutions, which brings together other names such as SĂ£o Judas, UniSociesc, UniCuritiba and Fadergs.
Ribeiro published this week an opinion that says it is not possible to charge the vaccine passport at federal universities and institutes. Some federal universities have already approved the requirement for students and professors, and others are analyzing the measure.
Andifes (association of directors of federal higher education institutions) is studying to file a lawsuit against the decision of the MEC.
