Aids of total amount 100 million euros for replacement of electric by solar water heaters will provide the new program “I’m changing a water heater” which is expected to be announced in March.

Last week the amendment was tabled in Parliamentwhich provides the Minister of Environment and Energy with the authorization to announce a program to replace domestic hot water production systems (DHW) with solar thermal systems and to recycle retired devices through an alternative management system.

The structure of the program (replacement – retirement of old appliances and subsidy for purchase of new ones) resembles the “recycle – but appliance” program through which the replacement of air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers was subsidized. During the information and in the new program income criteria will apply for the prioritization of applications and the amount of the subsidy.
