The number of positive cases in rapid tests of Covid in pharmacies, which had plummeted in recent months, rose again during the holiday season, according to monitoring by Abrafarma (an association that brings together large pharmaceutical chains).
The rate of positive cases fell below 7% per day during the month of December. But it exceeded 20% on the 29th, when around 30 thousand exams were performed.
Demand for the tests picked up again at the end of November, after the emergence of the omicron variant and the flu outbreak.
Since the service began to be offered, in April of last year, pharmacies have carried out more than 12 million rapid tests, including tests for antigens and antibodies and the PCR type.
Abrafarma’s survey covers 3,000 pharmacies in the country.
