The new rise in Covid cases is already affecting train lines in Britain. The Rail Delivery Group, which brings together railway operating companies, announced that the absences of workers contaminated by the coronavirus forced the sector to change some travel schedules temporarily.
According to the entity, until January 16, all train operators will reduce their services.
On Christmas Eve, several companies canceled the service due to lack of staff. ScotRail has also been affected by Scotland’s new rules on self-isolation and has been making 150 fewer trips a day. According to a company statement, the company’s schedule will be changed until January 28.
CrossCountry reports that the disruption to its network due to staff shortages continues until at least Saturday (8th), and Southern has canceled all services to London Victoria until January 10th.
