Furthermore, commenting on the threats received by professor Vana Nikolaidou-Kyrianidou, Mr. Georgiadis pointed out that there is a group of the extreme left that has even threatened the professor with violence.
“We examined the reduction of VAT on products, we did not reject it so easily, the Minister of Development and Investments told SKAI 100.3 and Aris Portosalte Adonis Georgiades, responding to the relevant criticisms of the opposition, on the occasion of the abolition of the VAT on basic necessities that Spain has advanced.
The Minister of Development explained that this measure would not bring any result, as there is no way to ensure that the reduction will reach the consumer’s pocket.
At the same time, he noted that he cannot enter product pricingbecause that would result in dealers stopping selling them, or selling them on the black market.
The minister even mentioned that the only country that proceeded to increase the price of products, was Belarus and withdrew it a month later.
Regarding the criticisms of profiteering in our country, he questioned how it is possible for profiteering to exist at the same time and the rate of inflation to be lower than the European average

He stated that this group has the right to demand the resignation of the professor, but has no right to impose it by force. Mr. Georgiadis noted that it is a matter of democracy, and stated that he is awaiting the initiatives of the rector’s authorities on the matter.
