Mr. Skrekas, on Wednesday morning, held a series of contacts and meetings with Production Agencies in Ioannina, together with the Deputy Minister for Private Investments, Nikos Papathanasis and the president and administrator of DYPA, Spyros Protopsaltis.
At noon of the same day, Mr. Skrekas participated in the presentation of the government’s Development Program for the Region of Epirus in the energy and environment sectors.
Mr. Skrekas underlined that “in the next period we are launching five more energy saving programs amounting to 1.2 billion euros. These are:
– “Photovoltaics on the Roof” for households and farmers,
– “Save for Business”,
– “Save 2023”,
– “Recycle – Change Water Heater” and
– “Saving – Renovating for Young People.”».
The Minister of Environment and Energy also underlined that “we have allocated more than 9 billion euros to deal with the energy crisis, of which only 1.6 billion burdened the state budget and the rest came from the surplus profit recovery mechanism, the revenues of ELAPE and the revenues of greenhouse gas auctions”.
Mr. Skrekas added that “we decisively supported both households and businesses. Greece is the only country that received aid from the EU. to support small businesses”.
Mr. Skrekas pointed out that the energy crisis is not over and that the solution to reducing energy costs is the courageous entry of RES into our energy mix.
For this reason, he pointed out that “there has been a leap forward in RES in the last 3 years, with the installation of 4 thousand MW, with a 70% increase in the production of electricity from RES”, while with the policy followed by the Greek government, “we were spared 2 billion euros in natural gas imports”.
