The amendment with which increase by 8% from 1 May 13 total disability benefitsaccording to the recent announcement of the Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakou Mitsotakis. With the same amendment, paid leave for performing gynecological examinations is extended to the private sector.

In particular with the settings introduced:

– Ten OPECA disability benefits and three e-EFKA benefits are increasing by 8% from May 1, 2023, which are as follows:

A) Paid by e-EFKA

1) Total disability allowance for pensioners of the former OGA who receive only the basic pension of the former OGA, as long as they have a lifetime disability rate of 100%, of paragraph 2 of article 4 of the former 334/1988 (A΄154).
2) Sickness and incapacity allowance of public pensioners, of article 54 of the p.d. 169/2007 (A’ 210).
3) Extra-institutional allowance of e-E.F.K.A. of article 42 of Law 1140/1981 (Α΄68).

B) Paid by OPECA:

1) Movement allowance
2) Nutritional allowance for kidney patients, heart and liver transplant recipients, etc.,
3) Financial support for people with severe disabilities,
4) Financial support for people with severe mental retardation,
5) Financial support for paraplegics, quadriplegics and amputees, uninsured and insured by the State,
6) Financial support for people with congenital hemolytic anemia (mediterranean – sickle cell – micro sickle cell, etc.) or congenital bleeding tendency (hemophilia, etc.), Syndrome

Acquired Immune Deficiency (AIDS),

7) Financial support for deaf and hard of hearing people,
8) Financial support for visually impaired people,
9) Financial support for people with cerebral palsy,
10) Financial support for sick and recovered leprosy patients and their family members.

The main provisions of the amendment, the responsibility of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs provide for:

-The permission, which is already valid for the public sector, to carry out a gynecological check-up (one paid day per year) is established for women working in the private sector. This regulation seeks to support working women in the private sector by facilitating the necessary medical examinations, while applying the principle of equal treatment of workers in the public and private sector.

– The uninterrupted operation of structures and services to promote gender equality and support female victims of gender-based and domestic violence and/or multiple discrimination is ensured, with the continuation of the salary of employees in them from the NSRF 2021-2027. These services include, for example, the SOS 15900 telephone line, the Counseling Centers and Hostels of the Network of the General Secretariat of Demographic and Family Policy and Gender Equality of the Ministry of Labour, the Gender Equality Observatory of the GGDOPIF.
