Entities in the tourism and leisure sector come together to ask for a free and mass testing campaign for the population to identify cases of Covid, according to Abrabar (Brazilian Association of Bars and Nightclubs) and CNTur (National Tourism Confederation).
The entities defend testing as a form of prevention to prevent the recent escalation of infections from causing a new wave of measures to restrict the operation of bars, restaurants, nightclubs and other tourist activities.
Last Thursday (6), the city of Amparo, in the interior of São Paulo, published a decree prohibiting agglomerations and determining the closing of shops until 11 pm, among other initiatives that began to be raised.
According to Fabio Aguayo, president of CNTur, the scenario is also worrying because of the increase in the number of leaves of infected employees and customers fearful of the possibility of becoming infected.
Some cities, such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Recife canceled Carnival this year. And the tourism sector has already taken a hit in the last week with the suspension of cruises after the registration of contaminated passengers.
