Thessaloniki and Central Macedonia are now on the world map of film and television producers, with significant multiplicative benefits for the region, as the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, said on the sidelines of a press conference for the organization of the Eptapyrgio Festival .

“We already have 140 million euros in revenue, just from the productions in our country. 100,000 overnight stays have been made, while at least 4,000 jobs have been created just from the fact that now Thessaloniki and Central Macedonia are involved as a place to make film and television productions”, emphasized Mr. Tzitzikostas.

“We are faithful to our commitments, that PKM be the modern institution that unites, mobilizes and strengthens the productive forces of our country, and as an administration we managed, among other things, to put Central Macedonia on the world map of film producers”, he added.

Of course, the Regional Governor pointed out that culture is not only the economy, but mainly concerns society itself, because through cultural actions “we come closer to each other, strengthen our cohesion and ties, honor our traditions, shared values , our history”.

“As we committed, we continue to highlight the history and cultural heritage with a total of 127 projects to protect and highlight archaeological sites and monuments, which are currently “running” from the Region of Central Macedonia and in the seven Regional Units”, he said characteristically and referred to the Museum of Vergina which was recently handed over to the citizens, in the area of ​​Amphipolis and the Casta Tomb, which immediately after Easter opened its gates for the first time to the first visitors, but in other important works, such as those carried out in Ancient Pella, Dion , the Petralona Museum and Mount Athos.
