Governor João Doria ruled out this Tuesday (11) the need for any measure to close or restrict trade, services and the productive sector of agribusiness or industry at this time of advancement of the ômicron variant. So far, there are no restrictions foreseen, according to him.
“There is, yes, caution. And an express recommendation for people to wear masks at all times, on the streets, in their work environments, when commuting, inside the train, the bus, the taxi, the app. To wear a mask is to be protected for this fourth wave of the omicron”, he said.
Doria said there will be restrictions that have already been put forward for gathering events. He also stated that the state scientific committee meets again this Tuesday and that the new information should be presented at a press conference this Wednesday (12).
“I want to reassure the trade and services sector that, so far, there is no indication of restriction”, says Doria.
This week, a group of stores suggested that malls cut opening times to just one shift because it would help them deal with the problem of a shortage of employees who contracted the disease and had to be laid off. The measure would also be opportune for the moment of low flow of consumers.
The proposal to reduce the hours received the support of the trade union. Abrasce, an association that brings together the malls, said that the scenario is different in each establishment and that it requires punctual evaluations.
