The Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis, spoke to SKAI about the issue that has arisen with the price of molecular tests.
As Mr. Georgiadis pointed out, there has been a lot of speculation based on the successes of the mayors of Neapolis-Sykea and Halandri.
He clarified, however, that the ceiling in the retail sale is one thing and the price that everyone achieves when they buy more than one PCR is another thing.
Mayors through auctions in order to achieve the lowest prices. There is a difference between retail and wholesale price, he pointed out.
Mr. Georgiadis said that the ceiling is the highest price in retail. “There is no other country that has a lower ceiling than us.”
He even mentioned that the laboratory that performs PCR in Chalandri made an agreement to sell to the municipality 25 euros each test, while to the citizen it sells it for 40 euros.
“There are many laboratories that sell the tests for less than 47 euros.”
Regarding the reduction of VAT, he said that “it is considered as a scenario, but it has a large budgetary cost. We are not in that direction at all at the moment. We are over the problem. We will not leave anyone alone. “
Finally, commenting on the new occupation at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the beating of a professor at ASOEE, he said that “there will be constant episodes. It is an ongoing battle. We will do whatever it takes to eliminate them. “
