The Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros PapastavrouIt approved funding to launch a water pipeline from the springs of the ascendants to Aliveri, Evia, totaling 1.75m euros, at the request of the Municipality of Kimi-Aliveri.
According to the RIS update, the project includes 12,733 km long pipeline, with up to 200 cubic water per hour, pumping station, as well as all the necessary hydraulic components, electrical installations and automatic operation systems.
Related hydrological data were collected in cooperation with Hellenic Authority of Geological and Mining Research (EAGME).
According to the announcement, the project will work for the benefit of the local community and the increased tourist flows it receives, as it will guarantee the adequacy and quality of drinking water and will significantly address the issue of water scarcity in the municipality.
It is noted that in the months when water consumption is lower, the excess water will be used to enrich its underground aquifer Aliveriin order to rebuild the boreholes of the Loggos area, which have suffered from over -adoption.
