Accounts with large transactions in the sights of the Tax Office – Barrage of electronic intersections

Additional data and information on bank accounts, taxpayers’ loans, interest and dividends are requested by the banks from the Independent Public Revenue Authority, which should have been sent by the end of February. In fact, credit institutions should send data for deposit accounts or payment accounts of individuals, which show either a total annual billing movement or a total annual credit movement of more than 100,000 euros.

The data that AADE will collect on the one hand will be pre-filled in the statements on the other hand on the basis of which cross-checks will be made on natural and legal persons, while the movements of the accounts in the context of black money trafficking are also controlled.

According to tax administration officials, this year the cross-checking of data based on the new advanced electronic systems will increase significantly. The aim is to identify sources of tax evasion and concealment of income by taxpayers. In addition to banks, data will be sent by schools, mobile phone companies, private hospitals, and even EYDAP.

With a decision signed by the governor of AADE, G. Pitsilis, the credit and financial institutions, the institutions of settlement of transactions using payment cards, the payment institutions, the Hellenic Post, the Hellenic Central Securities Depository (ELKAT) SA. (ATHEXCSD) and investment service providers are invited to send to AADE data concerning the amount of credit and debit interest on deposits, repos, Greek government bonds and Greek government bonds, interest on corporate bonds listed on EE. or in a regulated stock market outside the EU, as well as the amounts of interest on securities of foreign origin (in the case mediated by a domestic credit or financial institution) residents of Greece and abroad, acquired during the previous year, as well as the amount of tax withheld , with the details of the beneficiaries – co-beneficiaries.

For the disclosure of taxable material, the auditors of AADE will focus the audits on the following categories:

1. The amounts of interest on deposits and repos acquired by the natural person during the previous year and the tax withheld.

2. In data on the bank accounts, which cumulatively within the year (2021) showed movements over 100,000 euros.

3. The dividends paid to natural and legal persons within 2021, for which the relevant data is disclosed by Hellenic Exchanges SA. (HELEX).

Under the microscope of the tax authorities the accounts of the taxpayers.

4. Amounts paid by individuals to credit institutions, credit companies and financial leasing companies for the amortization of loans (housing, consumer, etc.), including accrued and paid interest, interest accrued .λπ.
5. In details of life, death, personal accident and illness insurance policies.

6. The cost of hospitalization in private hospitals.

7. The cost of tuition in private schools.

8. In the cost of fixed and mobile telephony.

9. In the cost of electricity.

10. In the cost of water supply, for customers whose annual water consumption exceeds the amount of 1,000 euros.
