Uber started operating in the bus and van charter market for companies with the new Uber Shuttle service, available since Wednesday (12).
The service vehicles accommodate from 10 to 50 passengers and are intended to take employees to and from work.
According to Uber, the platform will connect companies that hire the service for their employees with those that offer chartered transport services. The mediation is done via the app, in a similar way to travel with private cars.
The difference is that the new B2B service must be contracted on the Uber for Business website and payment, although it continues to be made through the platform, is not accounted for by the app through the calculation of mileage and distance, but agreed based on criteria such as the number of passengers or monthly trips, the company said.
Employee spaces can be booked and managed directly in the Uber app, in the space dedicated to corporate travel, and it also displays the routes and stops along the way in real time. The product also offers weekly travel reports for user companies.
According to Uber, the service was created to keep up with the increasing trend of companies to offer more benefits to employees, in addition to providing safe travel for employees who resume face-to-face activities in the offices.
“We have noticed that companies are increasingly looking to offer benefits that are interesting to their employees and make sense for the business. Uber Shuttle for Business arrives at this moment and combines the ease of use of the Uber app, which is already known for all, with the offer of a new product that promotes the displacement of employees of the same company”, said Tavane Gurdos, director of Uber for Companies in Latin America, in the presentation of the product.
The company announced that Toyota do Brasil was the first company to hire the service in the country, to take the administrative employees of the São Paulo automaker to the Sorocaba plant, who return in a hybrid scheme after a year and a half of remote work.
