By the end of May 2023, 5,435 debt arrangements have been carried out, which correspond to 1.83 billion euros of original debts
The highest number debt settlements and definitive submissions of applicationsin its two years of operation, recorded in the month of May 2023 o out-of-court debt settlement mechanismproving the dynamics of this particular tool.
In particular, according to the data of the Special Secretariat for Private Debt Management:
1st. In the month of May 2023, 805 debt settlements were carried out and 1,996 final settlement applications were submitted.
In total, until the end of May 2023, 5,435 debt arrangements have been made, which correspond to 1.83 billion euros of initial debts.
2nd The number of new applications entered on the platform increased in the month of May 2023, following recent improvements to the extrajudicial mechanism, and reached 4,243, up by 900 from the average of the previous six months. The final submissions of applications were also increased by 50%, compared to the previous months.
3rd. It is also important to maintain the rate of approval of the arrangements by the financial institutions at a high level, which fluctuated at 72% in the last six months.
The Ministry of Finance and the Special Secretariat for Private Debt Management are closely monitoring the progress of the implementation of the out-of-court debt settlement mechanism, are cooperating intensively with all the agencies involved and continue to support households
