Of Chrysostom Chufi
To clarify chaos with the controls and intersections of uninsured vehicles, those who have not passed KTEO and have not paid for traffic fees but are circulating undisturbed on the streets, the Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministries of Finance, Citizen Protection, Digital and Digital Governance and Transportation.
Following the audit that the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance is running each time- the first is currently completed and the obligation is for at least 6 months- those property owners will be infringed by mail or SMS (otherwise in any other appropriate way) to settle. The first ranks should be expected by the end of the month.
According to the decision before repetitive check, it must be at least 15 days after the notification is sent. However, if the 2nd audit shows non -compliance then fines are imposed (for which of course there is again a notification by sending an email, SMS or notification to Gov.gr Wallet, by utilizing the declared communication information in the National Contact Registry):
Uninsured vehicle
- 250 euros for bicycles
- 500 euros for passengers and vehicles of other uses
- 1000 euros for buses
Non -payment of traffic charges
(Infringement is considered to be the non -repayment of the relevant traffic charges for any of the last 5 years of the year).
- If a traffic fees are due to at least 1 year the fine is equal to twice the traffic charges.
Non -control of KTEO
- 400 euros
Those who are confirmed by fines are reunited within 3 months.
In the event of a recurrence (within three years), the projected fine is doubled and the registration license and state signs of the vehicle are deducted.
Calculated on the basis of the hitherto intersections that at this time:
- 700,000 vehicles have not passed KTEO
- 243.904 is uninsured
- 113.382 have not paid traffic charges
The results of the audit that is completed will enable the GSPS to “set up” the opportunity to “set up” a big brothera giant database where all vehicles circulating on Greek roads will be recorded in real time.
Currently the data are scattered on the various bodies (AADE, auxiliary insurance fund, the Ministry of Transport, Police, etc.) without one body to “communicate” with the other.
An envelope will be created for each vehicle which will include from its registration authorization, insurance, technical audit, payment fees and any debts or penalties.
This will make it much easier to monitor them and the “forgetful” will be immediately alerted as its executives claim is not to collect fines but to inform the owners.
