The stock market closed with a mild rise in today’s session, at the levels of 1,250 units, recording a new 9-year high.

Investment interest was focused on banking shares and especially on the Alpha Bank share, while the turnover fluctuated at high levels.

The General Price Index closed at 1,250.61 points, marking an increase of 0.47%.

It is the highest close since the July 3, 2014 session (1,254.21 points).

Intra-sessionally it recorded a higher price at 1,257.18 points (+1.00%) and a lower price at 1,243.69 points (-0.09%).

The value of transactions amounted to 180.97 million euros, while 61,000,242 shares were traded.

The large-cap index rose 0.57%, while the mid-cap index gained 1.17%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Ellactor (+4.82%), Alpha Bank (+3.96%), Sarantis (+2.70%) and EYDAP (+2. 58%).

On the contrary, the shares of Quest Participations (-2.67%), Autohellas (-1.94%), Motor (-1.44%) and Jumbo (-1.17%) recorded the biggest fall.

Of the individual indices, the largest increase was recorded by the indices of Financial Services (+2.55%), Banks (+2.01%) and Raw Materials (+1.40%), while the largest losses were recorded by the indices of Insurance (-2.40%), Personal Products (-1.20%) and Oil (-1.10%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurbank, trading 34,693,046 and 6,459,800 shares, respectively.

The highest value of transactions was recorded by Alpha Bank with 53.50 million euros and Piraeus with 18.61 million euros.

67 stocks moved up, 42 down and 17 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Mathios Pyrimaha +8.32% and Alumyl +7.47%.

The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Agrotikos Oikos Spyros -10.00% and SATO -6.45%.
