Hatzidakis: 4,000 new jobs for the unemployed over 30 years old

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, stated: “The programs that will create 86,000 new jobs through OAED this year have already started to be implemented, as the submission of applications for the first of them begins. 4,000 new jobs for the unemployed over 30, with an emphasis on Attica. In the business that we came with the OAED Commander we had the pleasure to meet with employees who were previously unemployed and found work thanks to OAED programs. We found that they are satisfied with this development and of course with the help of OAED. They made some remarks on how the work of the Organization can be improved. “Obviously we take these remarks seriously, but the unemployed must also take OAED’s effort very seriously because it may seem much more useful than they think.”

The Governor of OAED, Spyros Protopsaltis, stated: “During the pandemic, OAED created 50,000 new jobs. Today we had the opportunity to meet people who are examples of the recruitments we mentioned. These are our fellow citizens who managed to find a job through the work subsidy programs of the Organization. It was very encouraging to hear them talk about the great opportunity given to them through the programs and efforts they made to reintegrate into the labor market and to see the tangible results of OAED’s active employment policies. In this context, we are activating another program, 4,000 new jobs for the unemployed aged 30 and over with an emphasis on women and a subsidy that exceeds 8,000 euros on an annual basis. “It’s a very useful tool that businesses can use to hire staff and give an unemployed person the opportunity to re-enter the job market.”
