When does the Market Pass platform open – When will the Youth Pass be paid
Countdown to the implementation of the first interventions of the government, in order to mitigate, as far as possible, the effects of punctuality for Greek households.
At the end of the month, the platform is expected to open – only for young beneficiaries – for the Market Pass, while September seems to be the month of payments, since in addition to the punctuality allowance, the Youth Pass will also be paid for young people who will complete both their 18th and 19th years of age.
It should be noted that those who have already received the first part of the allowance do not need to apply again.
According to information, the scenario that is being advanced at the moment is that there will be one (!) one-time payment for the beneficiaries of the Market Pass, probably at the end of September. Then or perhaps a little later – early October – the payment of the Youth Pass is also scheduled, with the information stating that it may not be necessary to open an electronic platform for such a thing.
As it has become known, the electronic platform for the new declarations is estimated to open at the end of August and it will be entered by the new beneficiaries and not the old ones, since for them the process will be automated and those who have already done so will not have to do anything at all applications from the first cycle.
According to estimates, the beneficiaries of the new Market Pass cycle will be approximately 2.8 million households.
The general features of the Market Pass for the period August – October 2023 will be exactly the same as the previous period and the only difference will be that the tax return of 2023 will be taken into account, i.e. the income earned in 2022.
But what are the differences:
1. If someone did not meet the requirements last year, either because their income decreased, or because their family members increased, they should reapply based on their 2023 tax return.
2. In case someone received the Market Pass until July, but his income increased and exceeded the limit, then he will be automatically informed by the system that he is not entitled to the allowance. Old beneficiaries who are new beneficiaries will also be informed.
The amount of aid per household amounts to 10% of the monthly amount of purchases, which is 220 euros for a single-member household, plus 100 euros for each additional member up to 1,000 euros of purchases.
The same criteria remain, in terms of income (up to 16,000 euros for single people, 24,000 euros for married people plus 5,000 euros for each child after the first) and assets (up to 250,000 euros for single people, 400,000 euros for married people).
The aid is granted to a digital debit card or to a bank account. If the beneficiary chooses the digital card, the aid can be used for purchases in food stores and street markets.
Also, the digital debit card will remain activated until December 31, 2023. If the beneficiary chooses credit to a bank account, he will receive 80% of the aid, which can be used without restrictions.
The Youth Pass, worth 150 euros, will be given to 18-year-olds, while it will also be given retroactively to those who have turned 19.
Beneficiaries are those who have turned 18 or 19 by December 31, 2022. At the same time, a necessary condition is that they have Taxisnet codes.
