An amount of 113.5 million euros is distributed to the municipalities of the country from the Central Independent Resources (CAP) as the first regular grant of the year 2022.
This amount is reimbursed to cover the operating and other general expenses of the municipalities and is increased by about 6.6%, from the corresponding amount given last year.
The decision is signed by the Deputy Minister of Interior, Stelios Petsas.
Another decision of the same, allocates – also from the CAP – the amount of 51 million euros to the municipalities, to cover the cost of staff salaries in cleaning positions with a private law employment relationship, in primary and secondary schools (including and minority schools) for the period January-June 2022.
“As we have announced in advance, 2022 will be a year of reform of the CAP, in order to have a fairer distribution, but also a significant effort to increase resources that will lead to the gradual reversal of the contraction course of recent years. We stand next to the municipalities and we continue with prudence, method and plan to help – in practice – the Local Government, in order to be able to fulfill its developmental and social role “, said Mr. Petsas.
