General government funding

The monthly net flow of funding to the general government, in December 2021, was negative by 3,416 million euros, compared to a positive net flow of 1,163 million euros the previous month. The annual rate of change in general government funding fell to 33.4% from 43.3% the previous month.

Private sector financing

In December 2021, the annual rate of change in total private sector financing increased to 1.3% from 1.1% the previous month. The monthly net flow of total financing to the private sector was positive by € 1,814 million, compared to a positive net flow of € 470 million last month.

Business financing

The monthly net flow of financing to businesses in December 2021 was positive by € 1,832 million, compared to a positive net flow of € 538 million last month, while the annual rate of change increased to 4.3% from 4.0 % last month. In particular, the annual rate of change in the financing of non-financial corporations (MFIs) increased to 3.8% from 3.2% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of their funding was positive by 1,545 million euros, compared to a positive net flow of 437 million euros last month. The annual rate of change in the financing of insurance companies and other financial institutions decreased to 10.1% from 13.1% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of their financing was positive by 287 million euros, compared to a positive net flow of 101 million euros last month.

Financing of freelancers, farmers and sole proprietors

In December 2021, the monthly net flow of funding to the self-employed, farmers and sole proprietors was positive by 88 million euros, compared to a positive net flow of 7 million euros the previous month. The annual rate of change in their funding increased to 2.0% from 1.5% last month.

Funding of private and private non-profit institutions

The negative net flow of funding to individuals and private non-profit institutions in December 2021 was negative by 107 million euros, compared to a negative net flow of 76 million euros in the previous month. The annual rate of change of their financing was -2.4% from -2.3% in the previous month.

Deposits of the domestic economy in the domestic credit institutions
The monthly net flow of total deposits was positive by 3,382 million euros, compared to a positive net flow of 1,669 million euros in November 2021.

Deposits from the general government

In December 2021, general government deposits decreased by 908 million euros, compared to a decrease of 164 million euros in the previous month, and the annual rate of change was -21.5% from -8.8% the previous year. month.

Deposits from the private sector

Private sector deposits increased by 4,290 million euros in December 2021, compared to an increase of 1,833 million euros in the previous month, while the annual rate of change decreased to 9.9% from 10.4% in the previous month.

Deposits from companies

In December 2021, corporate deposits increased by 1,592 million euros, compared to an increase of 2,057 million euros in the previous month, while the annual rate of change increased to 20.8% from 20.4% in the previous month. In particular, MXE deposits increased by 2,234 million euros, compared to an increase of 2,078 million euros last month. Deposits from insurance companies and other financial institutions fell by € 642 million, down from € 21 million last month.

Deposits from households and private non-profit institutions

Deposits of households and private non-profit institutions increased by € 2,698 million in December 2021, compared to a decrease of € 224 million last month, while the annual rate of change decreased to 6.7% from 7.5 % last month.
