The Secretariat of Higher Education, an agency of the Ministry of Education, initiated an administrative proceeding against Faculdade Anhanguera de Campinas on suspicion of non-compliance with the conditions of Fies (Student Financing Fund).
According to the ordinance published last Monday (24), signs of violation of the obligations assumed under the terms of joining the program were found. The objective is to assess the institution’s responsibility and, if applicable, apply penalties.
Questioned by the SA Panel, the MEC did not inform what the indications are.
The Fies law provides for the impossibility of the faculty joining the Fies for up to three consecutive selection processes, reimbursement of charges unduly charged, fine and exclusion of the institution as a beneficiary of new vacancies in the program.
The organ gave ten days for Anhanguera to manifest itself.
Sought by the SA Panel, the college says it did not receive the notification and technical note indicated in the ordinance. “The institution emphasizes that it has been in contact with the Ministry of Education since the date the ordinance was published, on Monday (24), to have access to the content of the technical note and, thus, to be able to express its opinion”, says the company in note.
