The -official- inflation of 48.7% made a 20-year jump in Turkey!

In particular, the rise in consumer prices in January in Turkey reached 48.69% on an annual basis, a rate that is the highest since April 2002 and is due to the collapse of the Turkish pound in 2021, according to official figures released today. The Turkstat table shows a sharp rise in consumer prices from November onwards.

In December, the rise in consumer prices had reached 36.08% on an annual basis.

It is noted that Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently beheaded the head of the Turkish statistical service, but inflationary pressures continue.

According to Manolis Kostidis, the images of misery recorded in Turkey are unprecedented, with the Sotzou newspaper presenting it on its front page today… anti-theft systems in cheeses, coffee, chocolates, sunflower oil, nuts in supermarkets, as the products have become so expensive that people can not buy them.
