An event in honor of the members of the “Hellenic Business Club of Turkey” (EELT) was organized at Sismanoglio Megaro in Istanbul, on Wednesday, November 1st.

Welcoming the many distinguished guests, the ambassador of Greece to Turkey, Christodoulos Lazaris, pointed out that the operation of the Club aims to create a network between its members, with the aim of strengthening the business dialogue, informing each other, promoting bilateral cooperation, as well as highlighting new business opportunities between Greece and Turkey. At the current initial stage, the operation of EELT is supported by the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Consulate General of Greece in Istanbul, at a later stage, however – as the ambassador pointed out – the aim is to give the initiative a legal form and the responsibility for the operation of the Club to be fully undertaken by its members.

Taking the floor, the consul general of Greece in Istanbul, ambassador Konstantinos Koutraswelcomed the interest of the business community in participating in the activities of EELT and expressed the commitment and undivided support of the consulate general in the promotion of Greek-Turkish economic and commercial cooperation.

End, the head of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office, Christos Stamboulopoulosconfirmed the readiness of the Office to assist EELT in all its future actions, such as the organization of thematic events, days and workshops of economic and business interest, with the participation of guests from both Greece and Turkey.

EELT was founded in 2022 and operates under the auspices of the Embassy of Greece in Ankara, with the ambition to be a “connecting link” between entrepreneurs, business executives and freelancers from Greece and the diaspora here who are active in Turkey, attracting, at the same time , and Turkish businessmen from Turkey with an investment presence or partnerships in Greece.
