Strong upward trends were recorded by share prices in today’s session of the Stock Exchange, with the market dynamically breaking the levels of 1,200 points, closing slightly below 1,220 points.

The market followed the positive climate that also prevails in the European markets, while Wall Street is also moving upwards at the opening, in the wake of yesterday’s monetary policy decisions by the Fed.

The General Price Index closed at 1,219.99 points, recording a gain of 1.96%.

The value of transactions amounted to 94.66 million euros, while 20,947,605 shares were traded.

The large-cap index rose 1.85%, while the mid-cap index gained 1.61%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Aegean (+5.84%), Lamda Development (+5.01%), Piraeus (+4.58%), Motor Oil (+4 .55%) and Elvalhalcor (+3.95%).

On the contrary, OPAP (-3.54%) and Coca Cola (-0.81%) shares recorded the biggest fall.

OPAP traded today without the right to the interim dividend which amounts to 0.9517 euros per share.

Of the individual indices, the Oil (+3.89%) and Real Estate (+3.85%) indices recorded the largest increase, while the Travel (-2.52%) and Food (-0.81%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 5,325,818 and 4,619,201 shares, respectively.

The highest transaction value was recorded by Jumbo with 17.01 million euros and OPAP with 13.34 million euros.

88 stocks moved up, 16 fell and 20 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Q&R +6.25% and Xylemporia(k) +6.11%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Xylemporia(p) -6.90% and OPAP -3.54%.
