The stock market closed marginally lower in the last session of the week, despite initial gains exceeding 1%.

Investors proceeded to book short-term profits, after the initial significant gains, but also yesterday’s strong rise that took the market above the levels of 1,200 points.

The General Price Index closed at 1,219.77 unitsmarking a marginal drop of 0.02%.

In-session recorded high at 1,234.54 points (+1.19%) and low at 1,217.25 points (-0.22%).

On a weekly basis, the main stock market index registered a rise of 3.48%, while since the beginning of 2023 it has recorded gains of 31.19%.

The value of transactions amounted to 88.12 million euros, while 21,622,257 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell marginally by 0.02%, while the mid-cap index also declined by 0.02%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Jumbo (+1.65%), OTE (+1.60%), ELPE (+1.08%), EYDAP (+0.88 %) and PPC (+0.87%).

On the contrary, the biggest drop was recorded by the shares of Terna Energy (-1.88%), Viohalco (-1.77%), Elvalhalcor (-1.49%) and Mytileneos (-1.27%).

Of the individual indices, the largest increase was recorded by the indices of Telecommunications (+1.60%) and Personal Products (+1.52%), while the largest losses were recorded by the indices of Health (-1.96%) and Trade (-1.46%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 6,803,932 and 4,642,398 shares, respectively.

OPAP recorded the highest value of transactions with 12.53 million euros and Alpha Bank with 9.88 million euros.

57 stocks moved up, 50 fell and 15 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Xylemporia (k) +7.58% and Xylemporia (p) +5.19%.

The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Chaidemenos -10.32% and Kecrops -5.84%.
