The Athens Stock Exchange maintained its mild upward trend and managed to climb above the barrier of 1,280 points despite sluggish trading. The General Index strengthened by 0.60% to close at 1,283.12 points.

The turnover was 95.3 million euros, while the volume of transactions was 21.14 million pieces. The large-cap index increased by 0.85% and the mid-cap index by 0.45%.

The Banks index registered a significant increase of 1.86%. Overall, 53 stocks advanced, 52 declined and 22 were unchanged. Significant gains (3.35%) and 3.06%, respectively, were recorded by the shares of National Bank and Piraeus Bank.
